About Us

We are based in Waltham Chase Village hall and were first registered with Ofsted in November 1991. Over the last 30 years, we have been providing Pre-School education to children from 2 years to school age. We keep children at the focus of everything we do by inspiring new learning and create awe and wonder through a rich and purposeful learning environment.

We support and challenge children so that they are happy, engaged and independent learners while ensuring children are leaders of their own learning to satisfy their natural curiosity. As a setting we develop effective relationships with families and the community and we are a fully inclusive setting where children have equal opportunities to excel in their learning.

Key Information

Parent Involvement

We recognise that a childs primary educator is their parents/carers. We promote partnership working between our staff and parents/carers to support all children's education in setting and at home. Our aim is to ensure each child has a rich learning evnviorment and are stimulated by the adults in their life.

Our Environment

We have beautiful facilities inside and out which children have access to both throughout the day. Inside you will find a spacious but cosy environment with a wide variety of learning opportunities available. Outside is an astro covered garden but this does not mean that they don't get messy! Sand, water, mud is at the disposal of the children as well as bikes and climbing equipment.

Funding and Fees

There are a variety of funding options available to meet the needs of different families. Using the links below, you can find out which funding option might be best for you and your child. Our hourly rate is £6.50. From April 2025, ur hourly rate will be £6.80.

Board of Trustees

Waltham Chase Pre-School is registered with the Charities Commission. Committee members and trustees of a charitable Pre-School are jointly responsible for the effective running of the Pre-School and making decisions regarding its management. The Committee members have an overriding duty to act lawfully and in the best interests of the Pre-School and its beneficiaries. This is made up of parents/carers and community members.

Key Person

Each child attending pre-school is allocated a Key Person. They are responsible for settling in the child, building a relationship with the family and supporting and tracking their learning and development. You will be introduced to your child’s Key Person during induction once your child’s hours have been finalised. The Key Person regularly meets with the parents/carers to chat and update the parent/carer on their child’s progress.

Snack is available between 9:30am – 10am. We promote healthy eating, and is reflected in the snack we offer. Fresh fruit and/or vegetables, a breadstick or other similar dried snack items and a drink of either milk or water.

Lunch takes place at 12pm. parents/carers provide their child with a lunch box. We encourage parents to follow our healthy eating ethos when providing your child’s lunch. Children are seated at the table during lunch with staff present at all times.
